CCEA Winter Talent Camp

The last week of 2011, Calvary Chapel East Anaheim hosted a winter VBS talent camp for kids. There was art, dance, tech, basketball, drama, and break dancing. Break Free was able to help teach breakdancing and Gods Word for the week to ages ranging from 5 up to 14. It was a lot of fun! The camp was centered around the gospel of Jesus Christ and how you can use your talents to bring God glory. It was fun but a lot of work as we had about 30+ kids in our class. They learned top rock, floorwork, power moves, and freezes. Everyday the kids were so excited to learn new moves and study the Bible. Tim (Veritaz) Munther was able to help us out for a couple days as well and he even taught a Bible study. Then the last day of the week we put on a talent show for the parents/family. The kids had a lot of energy and fun doing it(Watch the video). Then the gospel was preached that night and praise the Lord kids and even adults repsponded to receive Christ as Lord! One of the kids in my class wanted a Bible and we gave him one. It was the first Bible he has ever had. It was a great week and to God be the glory!

Mike (Bishop) and Ellen Swalley's Wedding

Well, my good friend Mike Swalley (Bishop)and ministry partner, got married last Friday the day after thanksgiving to Ellen. It was an awesome time and it took place in Oswego, IL outside of Chicago. It’s so great to see the hand of God in Mikes life with how He brought him and Ellen together at the perfect time. Mike and Ellen met at Dallas Theological Seminary and hit it off quickly! After a few dates, and a few months later, they were married. So, at the wedding there was some great bboying going on. Bishop and his groomsmen were wearing converse tennis shoes with their outfits. So I (josh) had to bring my dancing shoes also. Bishop and I had a fun 3 round battle against each other. Praise the Lord Mike and Ellen are now one ! “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” -Proverbs 18:22

Preaching the gospel in the Schools

Break Free has been extremely busy over the past month or so. We have been able to dance and share the gospel at many different schools. Calvary Chapel Las Vegas, San Juan Capistrano Valley Christian, Foothill high, University High and Woodbridge high are all of the different schools we have served at. A couple of schools have been Christian and others have been public. But it’s been amazing to see the amount of students who have attended these outreaches. At Foothill High we had around 450 students hear the gospel, while a few responded to receive Christ personally. At Woodbridge there were probably around 150 students who heard and many were saved. We ran out of Bibles to give out because so many wanted to have a Bible afterwards. One student wanted a bible and we didn’t have any left. But I had some in my car so my friend Kyle ran out and grabbed it for him. He was willing to be late to class so that he could get a copy of God’s Word! I encourage you to watch the videos just to see the amount of students who came, the Lord is so good! And to be forward, we saw almost 20 students at Capistrano Valley Christian receive Jesus as Lord. It was amazing to watch the Lord convict and draw many young people to himself. I am so pumped to see God moving it great ways and also that we are still able to go to public schools in California preaching the Gospel! Please continue to pray that the Lord would raise up workers for this harvest. “The harvest is plentiful and the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” –Luke 10:2

Break Free in Las Vegas

Break Free made its first trip to Las Vegas last weekend. We made some connections with a few Christian bboys out there and wanted to partner up with them in an outreach. It was my first time to sin city and I must say the devil really has a strong hold on that place. As we were getting closer to the city I could feel sense darkness in my spirit. A good friend of mine, Mike Williams, opened up his heart/home to us to crash for the weekend. Mike also, hooked us up with doing an outreach with his church in the downtown area called freemont street. Like, I said when you bring the light of the gospel into darkness; the devil will put up a fight. In a nutshell, we were constantly harassed by security as we stood our ground in proclaiming Jesus as Lord. We were serving about 20 feet away from a palm reading caravan. There were perverted and strange street performances all along the area but since we were sharing Christ we were hit the hardest. I couldn’t help but think of Ephesians 6 when Paul talked about the spiritual warfare. “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devils schemes. Our battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” After we were getting discouraged of the devils flaming arrows hitting us, we started to quote scriptures like these. “ Greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the World.” We had no more problems because the Word says when you resist the devil he will flee from you. Praise the Lord, He gave us the grace to stand our ground and preach the gospel against much opposition. Our team as a whole probably handed out over a thousand gospel tracts and had many good one on one conversation’s. The dancing was a great tool in order to draw a crowd to reach more people. Jesus was and is victorious!!! Our prayer is that revival would take place and that Las Vegas would no longer be known as sin city but saint city!!

Brea Wellness Festival- Brea, CA

Break Free had the open door to serve at the Brea Wellness festival at the Brea Community Center. I (Josh) work there part time and my co-workers offered me an opportunity to set up a table to promote the gospel. The dancing drew people to our table and we handed out almost all of our gospel tracts and had many good one on one conversation’s about how to come into a relationship with Jesus Christ. There were tons of vendors and hundreds of people who made their way through the community center. It was a great opportunity to proclaim truth. I have my degree in exercise and wellness and so I have heard many times the different aspects of wellness such as emotional, mental, spiritual, physical ect. And the most important element to wellness is definitely the soul. Humanity can’t do anything to get rid of the spiritual disease called sin. No works, church going, or so called moral goodness we could do can get rid of sin. We have all sinned and broken Gods moral Laws (lying, stealing, lust ect.) and sin has a consequence (Romans 3:23, 26). It separates us from a relationship God wants to have with us and it will send us to hell if we don’t turn from our sin and accept by faith Jesus Christ’s finished work on the cross for forgiveness. God is love but He is also a God of justice who must punish sin. I think of what Jesus said “What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his own soul? What can a man give in exchange for his soul?” No matter how much you accomplish in this life or how successful you are, where will you spend eternity? If you died today, is your life right with God? “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. “God demonstrates His own love for us in this: That while we were still sinners Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 Jesus paid a debt He did not owe because we owed a debt we could not pay. You can be forgiven of your sins, go to heaven when you die, and have a relationship with God as a free gift if you repent (turn from sin) and Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is the son of God to forgive you. He is the reason we exist, to bring him honor and glory He rightly deserves! Once you do that you will pass from death to life spiritual. Then you are made spiritually well!]

Church in the Park- Calvary Chapel Camarillo

Calvary Chapel Camarillo contacted Break Free to have us come and serve alongside them at the 15 year anniversary celebration since their church started. The way that this specific opportunity came about is totally the Lords doing. When Break Free was in Japan this past July, we worked with the church Fuse Community Jesus. One of the people attending the Fuse church was in the Navy and his station was outside the Tokyo area. He used to attend the Calvary Chapel Camarillo and he gave his old church in California our contact information. The rest is history. We had a great time serving with CC Camarillo. The service was held in a public park and there were probably over 1200 people attending. I , Josh, had the privilege to share my testimony and then the pastor gave a gospel message after which led to many conversions! After the service was done I was walking out to go perform and one of the event staff workers stopped me and introduced me to a Hispanic man who was also working on the staff. He wanted to let me know (with tears in his eyes) that he gave his heart to Jesus. I was so thrilled and happy for the Lord saving this man’s soul. After the message, we were able to do a bboy demonstration in a skate park alongside other BMX bikers and skaters. We had a great time and felt very loved by the church. “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Break Free Equipping and LA outreach

Break Free had their first equipping weekend! It was on Mike and Josh’s heart to help equip the believers in the bboy community to disciple others and share the gospel. Mike Swalley has been staying in Minnesota with his family for the summer and he actually just got engaged! So he is a busy guy and it was great for him to come down to OC and teach the saints. Friday night was a great turn out. We had bboy don from In Rhythm with Him, bboy Cheo, bboy heavy, bboy stoops, break free and others. About 13 people showed up while Mike taught on the passage from 2 Timothy 2:2 “And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” Mike showed us through the scriptures how to pour into other believers and follow in the footsteps of Paul and Timothy. After the teaching we had a great bboy practice! It was a great atmosphere and much talent. Then Saturday morning I (Josh) had the pleasure of teaching on evangelism. Romans 1:16 says “I am not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of God for salvation to all who believe…”. I talked about how we must be ready to share and that the gospel has incredible power to save the soul. Then we put feet to our faith and went to downtown Los Angeles to perishing square and did street evangelism. We did our dancing that drew people to come and watch. Break Free at 1st Presbyterian Church- Santa Ana, CA

Josh (beebop) of Break Free ministry was asked to speak and perform with his crew at 1st Presbyterian church of Santa Ana. Josh’s friend Mike Williams is the Youth Pastor at the church and he invited Josh to come and serve there. Many friends of Break Free came and danced with them. Bboy don and friends with ‘In Rhythm with Him’ came and gave us some awesome energy! I think of how David danced before the Lord and it was great to be with other believers dancing for Christ. After the dancing, Josh gave a gospel message and a few kids responded to receive Jesus! When the body of Christ prays for souls, the Lord wants to save people. “God wants all men to saved and come to a knowledge of the Truth” 1 Timothy 2:4. Tokyo, Japan 2011

Yes, the Lord opened up a door for us to go to Tokyo, Japan again! We had a team of 7 of us from the Calvary Chapel East Anaheim church. It was awesome to work alongside Fuse Community Church again. It was cool that we were asked to perform at their church for their two year anniversary. As far as the trip goes, we did a ton of street evangelism. From train stations to university's we did a lot of bboying. Vincenete, Austin Carson, Jo Jo Hui and myself were some of the break free dancers. We were able to connect once again with many Japanese bboys. A cool story is one day when we were at the university dancing with the japan bboys, we ended up inviting them to an outreach we were having later that night. So they came and danced with us. I had the priviledge to share the Lord with all 3 of them that night which was great. Most of the Japanese culture is very uneducated as far as the Gospel goes. Many have never heard about what Jesus Christ did for us and who He really is. Then after the dance outreach Tony had the great idea to take them out to dinner with us. It was just a great time of sharing the gospel and by Gods grace, living out the gospel. I loved to see the body of Christ using its gifts to further His kingdom. My wife Krista was great at handing out tracts and flyers, then tony was great with evangelism,angelito was praying and taking pictures. Then the break free crew danced. Jo Jo (tony's son) did a great job dancing and helping us draw a crowd. Also, at that particular outreach pastor Tony lead a man to Christ. Many seeds were planted, maybe watered, and we saw God grow one seed right before our eyes! We also got to witness a baptism at the beach with the Fuse church. It was a great trip and the Lord went forth before us in such an unreached culture. Japan is the 2nd most unreached place on the planet. Its a part of the 10/40 window in the gospel for Asia. Please pray for Japan that the Lord would raise up workers to send out to that harvest. I encourage you to go there if you feel led. "The Harvest is plentiful and the workers are few. Walking on Water: San Diego, CA

The Lord is good. A few months ago, I picked out a movie at Red Box called "Walking on Water" and watched it with Krista my wife. I was really inspired and encouraged. The movie is a documentary about a Christian surfer (Bryan Jennings) who takes two younger surfers around the world and tells them the gospel. I really loved the film and was pumped because it was available at redbox for the secular world to see. So fastforward a few months and krista and I were at Laguna beach going out to dinner. We walk around the corner and boom, we bump into Bryan Jennings (the guy from the movie). I went up to him and introduced myself, telling him how encouraged I was by the film. So we talked for about 20 min and Bryan was really excited about our break free ministry. Long story short, he asked Break Free to come down to one of his beach camps to perform and share Christ crucified. I love how the Lord does divine appointments! So we went to Point Loma University and ministered to a group of young junior highers. It was awesome! The kids had so much energy and it was great! I personally was low on energy but the Lord really came through. I shared my testimony and the gospel, then I gave an invitation. Praise the Lord about 13 kids made a decision to follow Christ that night! "The Lord is good and His love endures forever..." I Got Skillz 3- Phonenix, AZ

We just finished out our 3rd annual, I got skillz bboy outreach in Phoenix, AZ. It was held at Roosevelt Community Church and there were many bboys who participated. A few local PHX bboys from For the love crew came out and represented in the 1 on 1 competiton. While some break free and cali bboys also came out to battle. The battles were intense and really competitve! Windmills, flares, and some awesome combinations were some of the moves that people got to witness. check out the videos:www.breakn4christ.com Overall bboy Eddie Moon from Cali won the event. He really rocked it out with his variety of moves and great energy. Congrats eddie! Then bboy sammin (Sam) shared a great gospel message at the end. He shared about the tornados in Joplin, Missouri that destroyed many houses and killed people. Sam shared about the unpredictability of life and how we must be right with God. THat can only happen by trusting in Christ as your personal savior! "And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Acts 2:21. Break Free in Dallas, Texas- The Lions Den

I have had the opportunity to teach bboying at a ministry called the Lion's Den. This ministry reaches out to young men in jr. high and high school in inner-city Dallas. Connecting at an outreach that I danced at, we have started weekly dance sessions for the guys. Every Saturday afternoon we have instruction and open dance time for anyone who wants to participate. We dance at the ministry house which is located in the neighborhood they reach out to. The guys are learning fast and really enjoying it. I hope to continue not only to teach these young men how to dance, but more importantly, how to use it to make disciples and bring glory to God.

Break Free at Heights Christian Elementary- La Mirada, CA

Break Free had the great priviledge to perform at Heights Christian Elementary for their missions month. Josh (beebop) shared about how to be creative in evangelism. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9 that "...I became all things to all men so that he might win some." We use break dancing (bboying) to reach the culture with the transforming power of the gospel (Romans 1:16). It was so much fun to dance with this age group. I have never danced in front of a more enthusiastic crowd ever! Just watch the video and you will see! The kids were great!

Break Free Easter 2011

Break Free did its first easter event down on Cypress St. with LOT 318 ministry. Letty is the director for LOT 318 and we have been working alonside their team with the Tues night breakdance/bible studies. The event on Easter was great! There were about 100+ people there and since pretty much all the people were Hispanic, there was alot of Mexican food! Saint-e, yo yo, and myself (beebop) did some breakn there to draw a crowd so that Saint-e could open air preach to them. He did a fantastic job sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to these people who needed to hear what easter is really about. Its all about Christ! "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will never die. and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" -John 11:35

FCA Night of Champsions 2011

Break Free had the privilege to be invited back to dance at the FCA Night of Champions in Orange County at Mariners church. We danced alongside bboy Don and had a live DJ to rock out some good beats. We had a new member to break free, Daniel, come out and perform with us at the event. He did a great job for his first time dancing in the public. Also, Saint-E did a fantastic job bringing energy to our group and connecting really well with the young people. As far as the event goes, there we 70 schools representing. About 1,200 kids were there. And around 130 students (that we know of) gave their lives to Christ!! It was great to be a part of the event in which God worked powerfully! All praise goes to Jesus Christ. “…so that in everything He might have the supremacy.” – Colossians 1:18

Breakn 4 Jesus- Inglewood, CA

Ruff nex crew put on a bboy battle centered around Jesus Christ. Our good friend bboy don, invited us out to participate and be a part of the event. So my wife Krista, bboy saint-E, and myself went with the eagerness to share the gospel. It was set in Inglewood near the Old Lakers arena in a community center. There was a good turn out. About 100 bboys or so and a few Christian rappers.Saint-E and I participated in the 2 v 2 battle but got knocked out of the first round. Thats alright, we will keep practicing and battling for the Lord. More importantly, Bboy Don preached the gospel and about 10 people recieved Christ!! Priase the Lord. I also had the opportunity to share Christ with a couple of different bboys there. It was encouraging to see other people in the Hip Hop community putting on events to let the world know that Christ is our only hope. "...Christ in you, the hope of glory." Colossians 1:27

So you Think You Can Dance 2010- Fullerton, CA

Now this is the 4th annual So You Think You Can Dance competition that our church has put on. It took place at Cal State Fullerton College and was a great turn out! There were many different styles of Dance from hip hop to tap to modern. One crew had about 30 dance members in it! I would say there were about 250-300 people at the event. Praise the Lord in bringing many people to the event! Then at the end Break Free rocked the beats on the dance floor alongside bboy Don, Eddy, Maria, and Matt. It was one of the most fun cyphers I have been a part of! There was lots of energy and joy while we were dancing. Then I had the privilege to share the gospel of Jesus Christ at the end. I spoke out of Mark 10 on the rich young ruler about surrendering your life to Christ. Praise the Lord about 7 people responded to the call and trusted in Jesus as savior and Lord! Thanks to all the prayers of the saints, God answered in a mighty way! God “wants all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.” 1 Tim. 2:4

Break Free brings the Gospel to Tokyo, Japan!

Well the Lord opened up a door to go to the land of the rising sun, Japan! This trip initially started when Mike Swalley and myself (Josh) wanted to go to the biggest break dance competition in the world (Red Bull BC ONE) that was being held in Japan. We thought we could make a mission trip out of it if the Lord blessed us with tickets to the competition, a place to stay and plane tickets. It’s amazing how in my heart I planned my course, but the Lord directed my steps (Proverbs 16:9). I first planned to have my wife Krista, Mike and myself go on this trip if it were Gods will. But Mike couldn’t make it do to seminary, Krista couldn’t make it do to parent teacher conferences, and I still felt God was leading me to go. I wasn’t sure with who though. So when the Red bull tickets went on sale the Lord opened up the door for me buy 3 tickets! That was an answer to prayer. Then it was about 2 or 3 weeks later that God provided a place for us to stay for free! Then the Lord provided sponsors for the trip so we could get plane tickets and have cash for the trip. Then Vincente (Saint-E) and Angelito were able to accompany me to Tokyo. It is an amazing city. The sad thing is that Christianity is only .4% in Japan. Its one of the most unreached places in the world. We were excited to work alongside fuse community church in our outreaches. The theme verse for our week was Eph. 5:16 “Making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil.” We had the pleasure to teach a bboy class to their church. And then we were able go out to two different train stations and dance to draw a crowd. One funny story was when we were at the train station. A big crowd came to watch and one young man in a suit, tie, and brief case came to watch. He couldn’t speak English but showed much interest in the dancing so I asked him to dance. He dropped his brief case, unloosened his tie, and got down on the floor to break in his nice square toe dress shoes! And he was good. I have never seen anyone bboy all dressed up on the streets. He was a die hard. Thank the Lord we handed out many tracks and got into some good conversations. Every place we ministered, God provided Japanese bboys. Whether we were at train stations, the University, or at the Red Bull competition, we were able to share the Good News of Christ with the bboys. God did an amazing work while we were there! And yeah, the Red Bull BC ONE was awesome! We actually had probably the most witnessing convo’s at this competition. The dancing was incredible and the energy was upbeat!We even had the blessing to dance and converse with the Red Bull dancers a few days before the event. Overall, the Lord really gave us a great trip and we really enjoyed serving him out there!!

Another school the Lord opened the door up for us to preach the gospel was at woodbridge high school of Irvine. There were about 100 students who came. Thanks to FCA we were able to get our foot in the door and share about Jesus. A good friend of mine, bboy Don with In Rythm with Him Minstry, came to dance with me. It was fun and there was a lot of energy with this group. Something that really moved me was that when I gave the invitation to recieve Christ only one girl raised her hand. It takes a lot of courage in the midst of your peers and friends to stand up to recieve Christ. But she did it. I encouraged her with these words that Christ told us " There is more rejoicing in Heaven over one sinner who repents, than 99 righteous people who need no repentance." Praise the Lord for saving that girl and the seeds of gospel were planted into the hearts of the other students there!

Break Free hits the schools through FCA

Through God's amazing soverignty Break Free is still preaching the gospel at PUBLIC high schools through Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). California is such a liberal state and we all know you cannot even pray in public schools let alone have Christ preached, but The Lord still has his hand on keeping the door open for us to share Christ crucified. This past Wed. I was not physically feeling good and was supposed to dance/share at Foothill Highschool. I really wasn't sure if I could dance and my voice was not sounding good because of my cold. But Mike Swalley (BISHOP) sent me a prayer text that the Lord would work powerfully through my weakness. And man, did the Lord ever! A different micael, helped me dance at the school. There were over 500 high schoolers in the gym!! We danced and the crowd kept getting bigger. I started to preach,and the crowd kept growing. I have never had spoken to that many students in a public school. Praise Jesus! It was a like a mini crusade, by Gods grace. Thanks to FCA, they provided free pizza for the kids and did a fantastic job getting the word out. So I preached about Gods greatest gift given to humanity, Jesus Christ. I shared the gospel and gave the invite. About 7 kids stood to their feet in the midst of all their peers to proclaim Jesus as Lord. They understood "...the gift of God is eternal life, in Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23" I was so pumped, how many seeds were planted and the souls that were saved. Please continue to pray for me and FCA, as we preach Christ over the next couple months in the public schools.

Break Free has occasionally worked alongside the Hook drama ministry from Calvary Chapel East Anaheim. But now, Break Free has planned to be more consistent in working together with Hook. The ministry is called "hook" because they use gospel centered drama's to lure a crowd in the same way we use break dancing to draw a crowd. This past saturday was an awesome work of Gods spirit through His people! We were located on the front of the pier which where most of the public walks by. So we started off with some praise and worship music, breakn, and then the gospel dramas. The Lord brought many people to come and see the dramas which opened up many doors for one to one witnessing! The seeds of Gods Truth were scattered all over different hearts throughout the night. Then, bboy don from 'In Rthym with Him' hip hop ministry , joined us up later and break danced with us. Saint-E, Liz, Ryan all helped out with breakn to draw a crowd. Towards the end of the night, we had a great crowd and I(Josh) had the priviledge to open air preach and talked about God's free gift of salvation. By Gods grace, about 6 people recieved Christ! It was awesome. No matter where we go, the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation for all who believe (Romans 1:16)

It has now been the third year in a row that Break Free has been able to go to Budapest Hungary to reach the lost. We connected, once again, with the Calvary Chapel Budapest church in doing our outreaches. The first three days of our trip was spent teaching the dramas that portrayed the gospel in different ways. My wife and I personally didn’t teach the dramas but I had the privilege to teach break dancing to some of the Hungarians. They ate it up! I wasn’t even really planning on teaching but the issue came up when we were there and they loved it. So we practiced for a couple hours and we had many people of all shapes and sizes come and learn. What I loved about the Hungarians attitude was there “ I don’t care what people think of me” mindset. They came to learn and have fun. So after one day of practice we hit up Budapest. By the way Budapest is pronounced “Buda- Pesht”. Basically say Budapest the way Sean Connery would say it. Anyways, since the Hungarians know how to do the Dramas our team split up to different locations almost every day. It was great for me to have about 3 to 5 other people dancing with me to draw a crowd so we could proclaim Christ. Some of the Hungarians who helped me were Laci, Ruben, Norbi, and Tan. Also, Angelito from our team, who is suffering from chronic back pain, helped us out with his dancing. Bgirl Liz joined us later in the trip, who did a great job adding some good style to the team. Thanks to the prayers of many, lots of people were saved! Praise Jesus! There were anywhere from about 5 to 20 people a day that came into a personal relationship with Christ. My constant prayer throughout the trip and in my own life is to pray that God will save people because that is His heart. God “…wants all men to be saved and come to knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:4. The Lord taught me to pray in Faith (Mark 11:24) that in His timing, His way and for His glory that God will save people. I have seen that God is desiring for us to pray with faith that God would graciously reach down and pull people out of the bondage of sin and saved them. And He does! One specific story on this trip was when I was open air preaching and felt as if there was nobody listening. I really felt that I was preaching to our teams and that nobody else stopped by to listen to the gospel. But little did I know that there was a young man in the crowd who wasn’t saved and God had been working on His heart. So after I preached and was a little discouraged, this young man named Zoltan came up to me and said he wanted to ask me some questions. I was thrilled! After about 20 min of sharing Christ and listening to Zoltan, he was ready to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior! It was awesome! What seemed to be a discouraging happened to be a huge blessing. The cool thing was that we invited Zoltan to church, which was a couple nights later, and he came. He had a heart to grow in his new walk with God. Now, that was one of many awesome stories God did through us! On the last day of outreach, one of the Hungarians wanted me to teach him some break dancing. So I took him aside and was teaching him some moves. As I was doing this, two young guys were walking by and asked if I was a bboy. I told them I was and they said that they were too and that they were from Italy. So we connected right away and they actually danced with us in our outreach! It was incredible because they helped us draw the biggest crowd we had ever had. It paved the way for some open air preaching in which the Lord moved powerfully! The Lord did much more than we could possibly imagine in planting seeds and seeing souls saved. We pray that this passion to reach the lost carries over into our daily lives here in America. –Josh (bebop)

The Break Through event was great! Bboy Don from In Rhythm with Him asked Break Free to come down and break for this event that was put on by Calvary chapel Costa Mesa. Bboy Don has been such a blessing to me personally and to our ministry. The Break Through event had many hip hop artists and rappers preaching Jesus Christ. The thing I was most impressed about was that each music artist spoke so clearly and Biblically about Jesus Christ and the need to have a relationship with Him. Saint-E, myself and many others did a lot of bboying and hip hop dancing throughout the evening. We had many kids come and participate with our dancing which was a lot of fun. We had to leave early but Bboy Don let me know that many people received Christ as Lord and Savior that night! We were thrilled to be a part of the break through event! - Beebop

Miles For Melanoma, Fullerton CA

Break Free was asked to be a part of the Miles for Melanoma 5K race. It was a great privilege to be a part of this particular event as it was a fundraiser for melanoma cancer. My wife Krista ran in this event in honor of her mom, Patty, who died of Melanoma cancer over 10 years ago. At our church, a dermatologist by the name of Bill Baugh is a passionate follower of Jesus and loves to reach the lost. Bill is the man who heads up this event and asked us to come out to break dance and most importantly, preach Christ! There were around 1000 people at this race and all sorts of vendors were set up. The great thing was that we were right in the middle of the vendors preaching the gospel. We were working alongside hook ministry (drama ministry) in preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. I had the joy to open air preach my testimony and also how life is a race and that we need to throw off everything that hinders and fix our eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:1,2). Also, Bboy Don from In Rhythm with Him ministry came down to bboy with us in reaching the lost. So Saint-E, Don, Bill’s son Ethan, and myself were thrown it down (breakn) in the morning. King of OC- Irvine

Every Few months the a Battle is put on at the Heritage Community Center in Irvine called the King of OC. This past weekend it was a 2 on 2 battle in which Saint-E and Beebop represented Break Free. Ultimately, we wanted to represent Christ in the way we battled and conducted ourselves. As I sat and watched the bboy my heart felt a sorrow towards them because it seemed as if this is what most of these guys/girls live for. And I really want them to see that life is all about knowing Jesus Christ and making Him known to others. Please pray that Break Free has more compassion for the bboy scene and reaches to them in love and Truth! We had a lot of fun competing and we also want to plan doing more battles to reach out to the bboy community for Christ! "

Brandon is a personal good friend of mine who loves Jesus Christ and is a sucessfull photographer. He took my engagement photos, as well as my wedding photos and did an incredible job. These shots were taken near the train station in downtown fullerton. It was great to have the entire crew together! It was a beautiful sunny weekend in Scottsdale/Phoenix AZ. The young adults team from Calvary Chapel East Anaheim came down to help minister the gospel at a break free outreach called " I Got Skillz". This was the 2nd I got Skillz competition (you can check out the first one in our 2008 section of the blog)and it was a great event! First off, it was completely centered around the gospel of Jesus Christ. We collaborated with two other churches which were Whitton Ave. Bible Church and Roosevelt Community Church. It was awesome to see three different churches working together to fufill the great comission! This was our first Break Free event where we battled each other. We also had 3 judges :Sean, Andy, and Nathan. We had the tremendous priviledge of having 2 live DJ's who spun for us. DJ Paolo and DJ Mikey P who were great. For the first round we did a three way battle where it was Beebop (josh) vs. Liz vs. Emily. Liz came off with strong energy while Emily did well with showing off her style. Also, Saint-E (vincente) battled Bishop (Mike)and it was intense! Bishop came off with some clean moves and vicente came right back at him with his polished floor work and freezes. They ended up having a tie breaker and Mike won that battle. Then Liz battled Emily to see who could go for third and forth place. Liz went on to the next round. For intermission, Liz shared her testimony for the first time with Break Free. She talked about the power of God at work in her life in which she has been growing to understand the grace of God. After Liz's testimony, Saint-E battled Liz for third and fourth place. Liz really put the pressure on Saint-E and it was a fun battle! Saint-E ended up taking 3rd. Then lastly, Beebop and Bishop battled in the finals. I personally had a great time and actually it was our first official battle. Beebop threw in a couple new sets while Mike was the crowd pleaser with his great creativity! We ended up have to do two tie breakers, which was exhausting but incredibly fun. Beebop ended up winning. But the main focus of the night was when Mike shared the gospel. Before he shared, the Hook team from CCEA performed a moving drama that portrays the gospel. They did a fantastic job. Then Mike transitioned and talked about how all of our "good" works are as filthy rags in the sight of a Holy God. And God became man to take the punishment for our sins because of unconditional Love. "God demonstrated his love towards us in this: that while we were still sinners Christ died for us." It was powerful! This message opened up the door for us to have one to one conversations with people who came to the event! Break Free Connects with In Rhythm with Him! Santa Ana, CA

Break Free hit up the streets of downtown Santa Ana for their monthly art walk on February 6th.. Bboy Don with In Rhythm with Him Ministry hooked us up and we came along side to help fufill the great commission. Bboy Don is a great man of God who has a heart for lost people in the Hip Hop culture. He has been bboying since 1983 I believe (Before I was born!) and he can still throw down moves better than most of us! Downtown Santa Ana puts on a art walk the first saturday of every month and we use hip hop as a way to reach the culture where there at without compromising the gospel of Jesus Christ! The night went great praise God. It was raining all day but the Lord parted the clouds for part of the night while we were there. There were many bboys and the crowds grew large to see what all the hype was. Vincente (Saint-E), Liz, and myself(Beebop) were breakn for Christ. Liz really got the crowd going when she nailed here freeze! Bboy Don and myself (Josh) did most of the open air preaching and hook ministry of Calvary Chapel east anaheim did a drama which opened up the door to share Christ! We were preaching the Word in and out of season by Gods grace! I really loved to see the Unity among believers of different Christian churches. Many people heard about Jesus and as the night went on the rain started to pour. But that didn't quench Don's passion to proclaim Jesus through dance and hip hop. Hey, my name is Vincente Alvarado! Im 23 years old and i'm from Honduras. Here is my story: I'm so thankful with God becuse since my childhood, I have learned God's ways and i've grown from a kid to a young man. So that is how I found out about "kings Castle Ministry". That made me see what was worldly and what was spiritual. In 1999, I dedicated myself to serving God with the gospel as the main objective. But we had to be ready in prayer, Bible studies, and other spiritual aspects. Then in 2003 we started to make choreography for the christian youth and I knew that God had something special for me. I remember my 3 friends and I were watching a break dance choreogrpahy and we liked it. Then I began to share the gospel through break dancing. I didn't know the plan that God had for me. So the time came for me to pray and wait. In 2007, God gave me the opportunity to come to the United States and I was grateful because I got a job and my desire to be like Jesus increased. 8 months later, a workmate told me about Calvary Chapel East Anaheim church. But the crazy thing is that he went to a different church. So I decided to go to Calvary Chapel East Anaheim in 2009 and I met Mike Swalley (bboy bishop) and Josh (beebop) from break free ministry. Break Free connects with LOT 3 18 ministy Placentia, CA

Break Free had done a demonstration at Yorba Linda Friends Church a while back and I got connected with a lady there named Letty. Letty is a fire ball for Christ. This woman has so much enthusiasm for Christ and a passion to help people. She told me the ministry that she has been heading up for years is called Lot 3 18. Funny thing was my wife’s old roommate Jamie was a friend of Letty and she told Letty about me a long time ago. Then divinely our paths crossed when Break Free did a demo at her church. Lot 3 18 meets in Placentia CA on Cypress St. Cypress St. is located in a lower class neighborhood where Letty heads up after school programs as well as Bible studies for all ages ( kids to adults). So Break Free goes down twice a month to Cypress and works with Lot 3 18 by teaching high schoolers break dancing and Gods awesome Word. Vicente from Break Free really connects well with this group as he himself is from Honduras Central America. So his Spanish speaking along with his cool personality really connects well with the group. He was able to teach out of God's Word about obeying your parents and the kids were listening really well! We spend about an hour and a half breakn and then finish up with a short message from the Bible. Its really amazing to see, once again, how break dancing has built a bridge with the community for us to share/show the Love of Christ. Praise be to Jesus that He allows us to be a part of His amazing work!

"Mini" So you think you can dance? Anaheim, CA

This was our first “mini” So you think you can dance competition and it took place near the down town Anaheim area. Our young adults group from Calvary Chapel East Anaheim really did an awesome job with setting up and praying up! A gracious couple allowed us to use their home, which was a hug historic house right in the middle of a lower class neighborhood. The Lord drew so many people (bout 200) to come watch the dancing and hear the gospel! There were many different dance styles and lots of the kids from the neighborhood participated as well. As for our Break Free battle we decided to do a two on two competition. It was Liz and myself (josh) vs. Vicente and up coming new bboy David Aldama. It was sweet ! Vicente cleaned up the floor with smooth floor work, Liz got the crowd going with her head freeze, David threw his gainer back flip, and Josh came out with his power moves! Overall the competition was a lot of fun and it was great to see the crowd so into it! Then I had the privilege of sharing the message, which was centered on Hope. I said that hope is not wishful thinking like “ I hope I win the lottery”. But rather hope is “Confident assurance or expectation that what the Bible says is going to happen.” Hope in Christ and his word is what strengthens us and gives us peace. “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. The will soar on wings like eagles… (Isaiah 40:30,31). If our hope is in our mighty God our problems become small and our strength increases. And then I shared the gospel of Jesus Christ and gave invitations to receive Him by faith. Praise God about 8 people received Christ from all different ages! Much prayer had been going into this night and God answered way more than we ever thought!

Third Annual "So you think you can Dance?" Competition. Fullerton ,CA

Months of planning and praying have gone into this competition. Thanks to our good friend, Sean Christiansen, helped get this event together along with the help from Campus Crusade for Christ. The was the third year the event was held at Cal state Fullerton College. The Lord really worked mightily that night! We had probably around three hundred + people show up to the competition with many different crews entering it. We had hip hop, ballet, modern,latino, and of course break dancing! We'll break free had the priviledge to battle a crew named 'Source of Style' who were really good. On our line up we had Tim (veritaz), Josh (beebop), Liz, shelli, Justin, and Vince. It was a great battle of epic of epic proportions:) Source of style really did an awesome job, that had great talent as well as variety in their dancing. I was very proud of how break free represented though as well. Veritaz (Tim) was coming hard with his skills, vince was bringing his fresh latino style, beebop (Josh) brought the power moves, and the ladies (Liz, shelli) brought the style. Then after the dancing an individual from Campus Crusade Ministry, Rico, spoke and shared his testimony/gospel of Jesus Christ. It was incredible to see people come to know Jesus and raise their hands to recieve Christ right at the competition that very night! The power of God unto salvation was at work in peoples lives in that place! God also opened up some doors for us to connect with some of the dancers and share with them Christ crucified! It was a great event, Praise Jesus!

"As of August 17th, 2009 I am no longer living in California but have packed my bags (and there were a few!), and moved to Dallas, TX. Being led by God to go back to school, getting more equipped for the ministry I feel called too, the doors were opened to go to Dallas Theological Seminary. I will be getting a Masters of Theology (ThM) degree in Discipleship and Evangelism. This is a four year degree and I expect to use all four and maybe then some. The question I anticipate is, “What will happen to Break Free?” Good question.

The vision for Break Free that God is putting on both Josh’s and my heart is one of expansion and reaching all nations with the Gospel. This has been done by His providence in California by ministering to multiple international bboys. But with the start of bible studies and more intimate discipleship, we now want to see these bible studies in more places. My move to Dallas will be the start of this expansion. Josh will continue to head up Break Free Southern California. He will continue to do outreaches, street ministry, and discipleship through bible studies and one on one interactions.

While going to school, I will start Break Free in Dallas. The vision is similar to what God is already doing in CA, with the goal of Break Free Dallas up and running on its own when I is done with school. Either myself or someone in Dallas can expand it to another city. Much like planting churches, we have a desire to plant Break Free bible studies, outreach ministries and discipleship groups all over the world.

As I am writing this, I have just finished my second day of classes at DTS. One main thing impressed on me by Howard Hendricks, the professor of my Bible Study Methods class, is that he wants us to be able to teach others how to study the bible and ultimately make disciples. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be here. Break Free is not over. It is actually just taking a step toward the vision God has placed on our hearts."

Break Free Camp- CCEA 7-13 year olds

Break Free just hosted its first breakdance camp at Calvary Chapel East Anaheim. The camp was held for kids from 7-13 and God blessed us with a tremendous turnout! There were about 80 kids that came and a good turn out of girls showed up. The theme of the camp was Galatians 5:1 " It is for freedom that Christ has set us free..." and we really emphasized the Freedom that Jesus Christ can/does bring into our lives. God really brought a great team together. Childrens ministry leader, Lori Eggenburg, and I (Josh) had a vision for this camp a few months ago. Then Tim (veritaz), Sean, Emily, Shelli, and Liz helped out with the dance instruction which was a huge blessing. ALso my beautiful wife Krista and friend Kelsey, helped make sandwhiches for the team. The camp went from 9am to 4pm and the teaching was broken up by learning the differnt aspects of breaking. Top rock, floor work, Power Moves, and freezes were what we focused on with the dancing. We also broke up into Bible study groups and had each leader go through some of the word about the freedom the Jesus Christ came to give us by His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave! The kids were really into it and seemed to love the entire day. At the end I was able to give a gospel message and a few kids responded to recieve Jesus Christ as personal Lord and savior! Praise God! Then afterward, we had the 7-10 year olds battle the 11-13year olds and they loved it. The day went great and by Gods grace the Lord was glorified!

Budapest, Hungary Part 2

This is the second time we have been able to go to Budapest, Hungary to serve the Lord and it was awesome! First of all, I want to thank everyone who supported us financially and prayerfully to be able to do this trip! Prayer played such a huge role in the mission trip! That’s enough with the exclamation points for now but basically what we did everyday was street evangelism. Our young adults team from Calvary Chapel east Anaheim (13 of us) went and used our variety of Gifts (1 peter 4:10) to fulfill the great commission. We connected with the Calvary Chapel Budapest again (like last year) and they are such a great team to work with. Everyday we did the same thing. We went to two different locations, one in the morning and one in the late after noon, and did breakdancing, dramas, and open air preaching/testimonies. There were usually about 15 Hungarians with us helping translate and witness. It was about 8 hours a day for 10 straight days of evangelism. It was exciting and exhausting. I personally could relate to the apostle Paul when he said “… I worked harder than all of them, yet not I but the grace of God with me.1 Cor.15:10”. There were days I was tired from dancing and sharing that my body felt like it couldn’t go on but every we prayed and asked for strength I was able to do far beyond what my body/mind was telling me.Sean Christensen, Jeremy Ruga, and Andrew Gartner are new bboys who helped my out and did a great job with the breakn. Praise God! Some of the praise reports are(more exclamation points) : We saw about 5-10 a day saved! My wife had really bad head aches and illness the first two days but we all prayed over her a few times and they never came back! Overall, there was good unity! And the Lord protected us from evil! Thanks for all your prayers. I can never stress enough about how important prayer is. We prayed in faith believing that God would save many souls and He did way more than we could have ever imagined! It was cool to see everyone using their God given talents to bring people to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. We would breakdance, then the crowd that came to watch would be standing there, and immediately we would have the drama team come up to perform a drama that shared the gospel. Then people would share their testimonies and I was able to open air preach a few times. It was 1 Cor.12 in action. There was the body of Christ with its many different members all working together to bring glory to Christ. I want to tell a person story that was really amazing. Late at night (about midnight) we were coming in after dinner and we all hopped on the tram to go back to our hotel. And there were a group of Hungarian teenagers that we didn’t know on the tram. So my friend Jake and I started doing pull ups and back flips on the bars in the tram you would hold on to keep your balance. The Hungarian teenagers started to copy us and do the same thing. We went back and forth trying to outdo each other, just having fun. So we all got off on our stop and then I started to share the Lord with them. After about 20 min of sharing the Gospel, these teens wanted to receive the Lord and be saved! We prayed with them to receive Christ and off they went. Little did they know that the Lord would appoint the salvation late that night! Praise the Lord. I really saw the power of the Holy Spirit at work and was blown away by what he did. The trip was such a blessing to do with my beautiful wife Krista and serve/pray along side with her! Once again, thanks for your prayers and I pray that you would spend some time in prayer today for an opportunity to witness to someone. Walk Worthy! Break Free is going to be doing some missionary work over the next few weeks and would love the prayers. Mike Swalley (bishop) will be with some people from Calvary Chapel East Anaheim and will be sharing/living out the gospel in Guatemala to work at a local orphanage. Josh Sazdanoff will along with different missionary team from CCEA will be heading to Hungary Budapest and doing mainly street evangelism. Prayer Requests:

FCA Camp- UCLA Campus

Breakfree had the tremendous priviledge to be invited to an FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes)camp on the UCLA campus in Los Angeles, CA. The event took place at the Union on Campus in a huge ball room. Around a thousand people came to this event from junion high/high schoolers, FCA staff, and some olympic athletes. We were asked to do a breakdance demo up on the big stage. Bishop,Veritaz, and beebop (myself), choreographed a routine and came hitting hard! I threw veritaz backwards to do his backflip, bishop came sliding in on his head, and I rolled into continuous kip ups to get the crowd going. We then did a top rock dance in rythm and then did our individual sets. We finished strong with power moves: Veritaz thrown his master swipes, Bishop throwing his barrel mills, and I threw down my munch mills. After the routine was over, Bishop was able to be interviewed and He clearly shared that by God's grace our ministry is about Jesus Christ! Then I was able to have a fun opportunity to lead a dance competition with the guys vs girls. The guys ended up winning. Then following us were a couple good speakers that shared the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and also the importance of reading the Bible. The night was fun to be partnering up with a ministry that we really love working with and be able glorify God through our dancing by His Grace alone!

Huntington Beach- Open Air Preaching Ray Comfort/Breakfree Part 2

It was Saturday, June 20th, a rainy morning driving down to Huntington Beach to partner up with Ray Comfort in reaching the lost. Ray comfort and his team partnered up with breakfree in its beginning’s in Oct. 2007 (to see more on that past event look back in our blog). It was a blessing on how this event came about. About a month prior to this event Tim (veritaz) and I (beebop) were doing an event with FCA (Fellowship Christian Athletes) at El Dorado high school. Right as we were walking onto the campus Mark Spence, Ray Comfort’s manager, sent me a text message, which read “ Praying for you brother. Be encouraged.” I was wondering how Mark was doing and was just thinking about them. Then sure enough, Mark text’s me at that school I went to with Tim. I thought that was real cool because a few days before Mark had sent me that text, my wife Krista and I we were on their website watching the event breakfree had done 2 years prior with Mark on Ray. It’s amazing how God works! Then I emailed Mark and told him that story and asked if they had any open dates for us to work with them again. June 20th was the date that was set. So after that long inftro. let me tell you how the event went. Like I said it was a rainy morning and as I was driving there I was praying that it would not rain. Right when it hit 1:30pm the rain pretty much ceased and the sun came out. Thank the Lord for great weather! Here is the breakfree line up that was there: For the guys it was Tim (Veritaz), Mike (Bishop), and Josh (Beebop). Then for the Ladies it was: Shelli (Shelbo), Liz (Figet), and Emily. Veritaz threw in his famous master swipes, Bishop blasted us with his barrel mills, beebop busted out his munch mills, Shelli cleaned up the floor with her smooth foot work, Liz showed off her top rock, and Emily had clean freezes! Ray Comfort powerfully shared the Truth. He took people who they thought were “good” through the Ten Commandment’s and then shared the gospel of Jesus Christ. So it was another duo of breakdancing to draw the crowd and to have Ray preach to that crowd. I vividly remember Ray showing great concern for a girl who went to catholic school and thought she was a good person. Ray preached the law, God’s grace, and the purpose of Jesus death on the cross. The girl acted like she didn’t care but God’s law, with the help of the Holy Spirit, was doing its work on her conscience and heart. We danced and Ray Preached for about 2 hours! It was awesome to see people come and hear the gospel. Veritaz and Bishop got to witness to another different group of breakdancers who did performances in that same spot. Tim said they were great conversations. Seeds were planted! After Ray left, I had the privilege to open air preach twice. I shared my personal testimony and incorporated the Gospel in how Jesus Christ transformed my life! There were crowds from about 15-40 people each time we danced and shared. The day was such a blessing and God truly gave us a great time! For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain! Philippians 1:21

Beebop and Special K get married! Macedonia/Greece/London

On April 11th 2009, Josh Sazdanoff (beebop) got married to Krista Pleak (Special K)and it was a very special day! Krista looked amazing in her beautiful white wedding dress while Josh was playing it cool in his black suit. The day was an answer to prayer because the news and many skeptics said it was probably going to rain. But Krista and I prayed that it would not rain (like Elijah) and trusted that the Lord was going to give us a great clear day, and He did! The entire wedding took place in Whittier at a house that Krista always dreamed of getting married at. Family and friends of all different backgrounds came to celebrate our beautiful covenant that the Lord has ordained. My good friend pastor steve knox gave them message and clearly laid our the gospel while Krista and I's young adults pastor took us through our vows. My eye's were glued to my beautiful bride while craid was speaking, I dont remember what he was saying :) We were married and Krista and I walked out together as Sazdanoff's, with Cold Play playing in the background. There was a killer taco bar and some great speeches from friends and family. Krista and I did our slow dance but faked the crowd out when the music died and busted out some breakn to Run DMC! Krista is a natural bgirl! Bboy bisop (mike),Bboy veritaz (Tim), and some old skool bboys busted out like bboy L (landon) and Bboy backside (peter). And one of the highlights with dancing was when I called my dad out to break (he promised me he would break at my wedding) and it was a sight to see! The follwoing monday we headed out for our honeymoon to Europe! We flew into Macedonia for a day and hung out with some of my relatives out there (my dad is from Macedonia)and then took a train to thessaloniki (yes, modern day thessalonica, where the apostle Paul went!). It was awesome, we were blessed to have a hotel over looking the agean sea. We walked around the city and ate real greek Gyros. We had some really cool opportunities to witness to people in greece. While Krista and I were down in Greece we read through 1 Thessalonians and just imagined Paul walking the streets and witnessing and causing uproars in the synagogues for the sake of Christ (Acts 17). It was Easter weekend there and obviously Greek Orthodox is the major religion so we were able to get into witnessing convo's with a taxi driver, our front desk receptionist, a teenager on the streets who saw me breakn and a British man next door to us on the hotel. Praise God! "For our gospel did not come to you in word only but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with full conviction..." 1 Thess. 1:5 Then we went to Macedonia and stayed in the village where my dad grew up called Capari. It was awesome! It is an old, poor village that has about 400 people living in it. Beautiful scenery which had awesome mountains, forests, and cold rivers running through it.The Lord's creation is aweomse! My family really spoiled us with great food and taking us around the city. On our way home Krista and I had a 12 hour layover in London and we took a train to the picadilly circus and took a cool tour of the city. Krista and I had a blast and the Lord really gave us a great time!

So You Think You Can Dance is Back!!

Thats right, so you think you can dance came back again for its second annual dance competition held at Cal State Fullerton. The event was put on by Calvary Chapel East Anaheim, Campus Crusade for Christ, and Breakfree Ministry. It was a well anticipated event for us and it was saturated in prayer for a long time. The campus minsitry of Calvary Chapel and campus crusade for Christ helped promote the event for about 2 months handing out thousands of flyers. So the event finally came on December 5th and we around 3 to 400 people come and watch. There were tap dancers, many different types of Hip Hop, and of course, breakdancing!And this year the crowd had the priveledge to judge who won the event. The breakdance battle was a little out of control. I think all of the dancers (even the people who didnt break) came and participated. Representing breakfree was Tim (veritaz), Mike (Bboy bishop), and Josh (beebop). We got to throw it down and have a good time. What was funny was to see Tim get battled by a tap dancer. The night was a lot of fun and campus crusade for Christ did the "everything" drama which portrayed the gospel. Then I (Josh) had the tremendous priveledge to share the gospel at the end. I spoke on Gods amazing grace and shared the story out of Luke 15 about the prodigal son. Really stressing how God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. It was awesome to see people commit their lives to the Lord that very night! There were also dancers who gave their lives to Lord as well! God just tremendously blessed the night and it was awesome to see God work and answer our prayers!

Break Free Hits the Schools

Breakfree ministry has been such a blessing to be a part of over the past 6 months. God has been moving mightily and been saving many people! Mike and I have been going to public schools mainly in the Orange County area and sharing the gospel through Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Its such a miracle to be able to share Christ in a public school setting in such a liberal state. God has his sovereign hand on this specific outreach and we have been seeing students come to know Christ!At one specific school saw about 7 students give their lives to Christ and at a different school, we saw about 20 accept Christ! God is mighty to save! Mike and I definitely appreciate your prayers and we feel like Peter did in Acts 12 when the church of God was fervently lifting him up in prayer. We see the power of prayer at work! Those of you who have been praying/supporting breakfee just greatly appreciate all your labor of love.

There also has been an after church breakdance practice at our calvary chapel church on Thursday nights. The gymnasium in the church is open from 10:15-11:45pm. Many young people have been coming and its a great enviroment to dance and have 1 on 1 conversations.

Prayer requests:
-Pray for the guys we dance with in Irvine and the schools we speak at. That God would save them and we faithfully continue to minister to them.

-Pray the Mike and I stay humble and keep Jesus at the front of our ministry.

-Pray that Gods will is done in our lives individually as well as the ministry.

Bringing the Gospel to Europe (Croatia and Budapest)

Well, Mike and I had the tremendous priveledge to travel all the way over to Eastern Europe to share the good news of Jesus Christ. I have personally never been there but when we arrived it was a whole new experience. From the insane amounts of Carbs we ate to the insane amount of walking/traveling we did. For a quick outline of Mike and I's travel schedule, it goes like this: We flew in to Zargreb, Croatia and spent about 10 days with my church from Phoenix (Whitton Ave. Bible) and taught english to Croatian teenagers. Then Mike and I took a bus from Croatia to Serbia. We had a few hours lay over in Belgrade, Serbia then we took another bus to Macedonia. Macedonia is where my father was born and grew up so it was very special for me to see the house he was born in and all the stories I grew up hearing about. Macedonia was my favorite country because it was not really populated at all and the scenery was beautiful. I stayed with some of my relatives out there. Then from Macedonia we traveled to Hungary, Budapest but we had another layover in Belgrade, Serbia again. Our layover was 14 hours long. The cool thing was, was that we were able to watch the new Batman movie in a tiny, freezing theatre. Then we finally arrived in Budapest. Its actually purnounced budape(sh)t,FYI. We met our church from Anaheim, CA (Calvary Chapel) and we did many street ministry witnessing outings. It was awesome! I could write a book on the past month but I am only going to highlight some of the trips. In Croatia, Mike and I had the pleasure to teach breakn to the teenagers at the english camp. I eneded up hurting my knee again but Mike taught on his own while I tried to do what I could. There were a couple young guys who came to know the Lord that I had really been prayn for! And mike had the privelege as well to see some of the kids he spent time with, come to know Christ. It was awesome, God was saving people left and right. Then at our layovers in Serbia, we had really cool witnessing opportunities. What I came to notice was that people in the Eastern Europe parts, dont really talk about God. So when they heard that God is relational and God is love and God is alive, this was new news to them. It was incredible how so many people have never heard the real Jesus of the Bible. Then in Budapest, God was bringing many people our way to be saved.The hook team did an awesome job. The dramas were done with passion and Mike was like a machine with his breakdacing. It was awesome to see a young man in a Tupac shirt came to know the Lord in tears and with a quivering lip. The power of God unto salvation was poured out in Budapest. We prayed earnestly and in faith and God answered our prayers! Even on the plane ride home and middle aged man came to know the Lord! From bus stations to local squares to plane rides, God was working mightily! I praise God! Anways, it was a great trip and I thank God for his blessing and grace. "For the grace of God the brings salvation has appeared to all men and it teaches us to say to no to ungodliness and worldly passions." Titus 2:11

The Windy City, Chicago Part 2

Well, it had been over a year ago that breakfree invaded downtown Chi town. Chicago is personally my favoite city. The people, architecture, food, and culture make the city come alive and a lot of fun.On friday,the day before the event,we were hangin out at a local park breakdancing and what not. Sure enough, an older Asian man came up to us and wanted to learn. So we all engaged in teaching him breakn but we also were able to share the Lord with him. So Tim had a great coversation with him while mike witnessed to the Asian man's friend! I (Josh) was praying for them and thought how awesome it was to see God bless us with divine appoinments. It didn't stop there either. The amazing thing is that the weather was not good going into this trip and we prayed fervently about good weather for saturday's event that we had planned out. Sure enough, God blessed us with great sunny weather. So breakfree teamed up with Harvest Bible's College group(Mike and Josh both used to attend this church)and we presented the gospel to the lost. Right before the event got started Mike, Tim, and I were able to witness to some peeps. Instead of us going out fishing for men God literally had the fish jump into our boat. Tim and I were able to witness to a group os scientology protestors, which was great. Mike got to witness to a couple guys who were sitting on the bench next to him. Then when we actually got the event started, we breakdanced at the same beaufitful location as last year, Millenium Park. We danced for maybe 5 min and the got kicked out. Last year, we danced there for 4 hours or so and now we got the boot in 5 min. Thats alright, we dusted our shoe's off and went the next park over, Grants Park. We had handfull's of people come and watch and it was great to see pretty much everybody witnessing to strangers!We also were able to break in a tunnel which felt like the old school way of how breakdancing really started. It was a great day of dancing and ministry. I was very blessed to be with my two best friends in my favorite city doing my favorite things: Sharing the gospel and breakn. God is so good and faithful! One Place church, in downtown phoenix, hosted the first I got skillz breakdance competition. The event was great! We had a live DJ, Cre, who came from River of Life church. Two rappers who are brothers,Opex, gave a solid performance. Bboy sentrock (joseph) from For the Love crew, put up his graffiti art on the walls of the small church. Aaron,one of the pastors from my church, was the MC who got the event rolling. Then of course, the bboyn was alot of fun. There was 3 on 3 battles and the crowd had the privilege to jude who won each battle. Breakfree had to split up its members due to the size of our crew. The first battle was breakfree (josh,mike,tim) vs Andy, Nate, and Zack. Well... the crowd said that they won but I dont know about that! Then the second battle was For the Love (Drew, Joseph,shadow) vs Rez 3 (Caylin,shane,and a little girl whose name i dont know). For the love lost and once again, and we (breakfree) had to battle them for 3rd and 4th place. We lost again and I thought it was pretty close. Tim threw down his master swipes, joseph did his head spins, while mike was tearin it up on the floor work. Then came the final battle which was Rez 3 vs. Andy, Nate, and Zack. Andy displayed his flexibility and strength while nate threw down his swipes and Zack worked on his threads. Rez 3 had battled hard but fell short.Overall, the breakdancing was awesome. After all the battling the most important thing happend last. Mike had a team from his church in Anaheim california come down to help out. They performed a great drama skit to a christian song that portrayed the gospel message. God really moved. Then lastly, I had the great privilege of sharing a gospel message based off of a video that was shown before I spoke. The message was that the son (Christ) was killed so that others could live. I spoke on God's judgement,hell,justice, love, grace and forgivenss throught Jesus Christ's work on the cross! I really loved how Christ was moving and we were able to connect with people. We preach Christ and Him crucified!

Los Angeles Mission Trip with SCA

I, Josh, was one of the leaders on the Scottsdale Christian High School's mission trip. I am acutally a graduate from SCA and now was able to help lead with some of my past teachers. The trip was comprised of juniors and seniors and we stayed at a Christian base on Hollywood Blvd. called Oasis. As far as bboy evangelism goes, we were able to go out to Venice beach and Santa Monica. Tim (veritaz) and Mike (Bishop) were able to join up with us and help plant the seeds of the Gospel. A cool story was when Tim and I were bboyn in Venice beach and a bboy named Tony from the east coast joined us. Also, a bboy straight from Japan (bboy youth was his name) joined us as well. Tim was able to share the gospel with Tony and all three of us were able to witness to bboy youth. Mike brought him to breakdance practice and was able to share the Lord with him. And later on, Tim and I had the privelege of hanging out with him and sharing Jesus Christ with bboy youth. Mike had boughten him a japanese Bible, which he refused to accept because his luggage was to full. But Tim and I had him read scriptures reguarding salvation in his own language! At least we were able to have the Bible present and God's word does not return void. It will accomplish and work its way in the heart.Bboy youth was very respectful and was listening.Praise God! It was awesome to see the entire group of high schoolers excited about evangelism and reaching out to people. Brighton, who is an up and coming bboy and a part of breakfree, danced at venice and then was able to share with people. Bboy Bible Study Practices

Breakfree has been hosting a practice spot at Whitton Ave. Bible's church. The practices are from 7-9 pm on Mondays and Thursdays. The practice starts out in word of prayer, then practice goes for about 1hr and 1/2, then ends in a short Bible study. The purpose of the practices is obviously teach people who have a desire to bboy but more importantly, is used to help reach out to people who dont know Jesus Chirst. Roosevelt Community church also does a bboy Bible study practice on every third Monday of the month.
Out in California, Bboy Bishop (Mike Swalley) has been going to various practice spots and reachn out to the bboys. He is trying to get a Bible study going at one of the practice venues. Breakfree's passion is to try and reach as many people for Christ as possible, this is one way that the ministry is expanding.

Mike "Bishop" Swalley's Testimony

I grew up in the Lutheran church until I was 8 years old. At that time my family,
which consisted of my mom, my sister and myself, moved to an evangelical covenant
church. This was a great move for me in the long run as the Lord surrounded me with
some great friends and pastors. My family at this time was a big part of who I was. My
father had passed away when I was very young, so I was close to my mom and sister.
When I reached middle school the security I had in my family started to crumble.
There was so much pain that I experienced in this time that I turned from my family, and
quickly went to my friends. But my friends were going through much of the same things
I was and there was not much security there. The relationships would fail and hurt, and I
was tired of the pain. So I turned to sports and school as my identity. I could understand
those things and they brought me the acceptance and popularity that I desired.
I continued to go to church and put on a good front, but I was a tare among the
wheat. I knew a lot about God and was heavily involved in my youth group. I was on
the leadership team with my youth group, and was the vice-president for our local FCA,
but it was all an image for me. This was my group and where I felt comfortable. But I
did not have a saving relationship with the Lord, mainly because all of my other
relationships were ending in hurt. Why would it be any different with Him?
Amidst all of this, I was not aware of my personal rebellion to the Lord and how
dark my sin was to Him. No one had told me that I had broken God’s Law and because
of that I needed Him, or at least if they had I was not hearing it. The God in my life was
football, and ultimately what people thought of me through that. I went to a Christian
college to play football and would much rather have been known for being a good player
than a man of God. And that is exactly what I got. I played well my first year and that is
where my identity stayed. Surrounded by Christians now more than ever, I continued in
my way of simply having my faith as just another thing I did, refusing to face the pain of
my past. I had yet to commit my life to Him, to die to myself and follow Jesus.
My second year of college I got a few concussions in football. It put me out of
the season for good, and they told me that if I got one more I could never play again.
This really hit hard for me because my entire identity was wrapped up in football. Not
being able to play, coupled with post concussion syndrome, put me into a deep
depression. One afternoon as I was laying in bed, I simply cried out to God that if he was
who I had heard he was, to make himself known. I got out of bed and read Romans 8:35-
39 and saw the love of God in Christ Jesus. It finally clicked in me how much I needed
Jesus. Everything I was doing on earth was temporary and my identity here would do
nothing for me when I stood before the Lord because of my sinful nature. I cried out to
God for His forgiveness, and he faithfully answered. I truly saw that His love would
never fail me and I knew this because when I was his enemy he died for me (Romans
5:8). Now that I was his son, he would never let me go.
It has been a process since that afternoon of my sophomore year of college. I did
get another concussion the next year and had to quit playing football. My relationships
with family and friends bring me a lot of joy, yet still cause pain and heartache. The
grace that saved me is the same grace that sustains me. Despite the fear and uncertainty I
face in ministry, I am driven by the love he has for me to tell them of the same love he
has for them.

Breakn in Wheaton IL and Branson MO

Well, Mike and I have been planning this trip for sometime now. We both arrived in Chicago, my favorite city, and had an event that evening in the Wheaton area. The event was at a large car garage, which was owned by the people we were staying with, and it was awesome. Randy, who is a close friend of mike, is a leader of a Christian organization called K Life and he invited many of the Christian high school students he leads to come to the event. So there was a great turn out, about 40 or so students came. Mike and I taught them the top rock, knee drop, 6 step, and a freeze. It was awesome to see how well it connected with the high schoolers. We were given an opportunity to speak and I spoke on being creative in evangelism. While Mike shared about identity and how it needs to be found in Chirst alone. At the end of the night, the students showed off their moves that they learned. It was great!

Then, we headed off to Branson, Missouri. I must admit Branson is an interesting town. Dolly parton's hotel, Dick Clarks theatre, and countless impersonators made me laugh. There was a K life conference going down at the Dick Clark theatre and hundreds of college age and older people were there. Mike and I set up a both and were able to promote Breakfree ministry. The first night of the conference we were able to go up on stage to share about breakfree and bust some moves. So we had the booth for a few days. Then the last day,Sunday, we were able to go to a church in Branson and do a couple Children's services. I spoke about being a fisher for men. Then we gave an announcement to the church about the event we were doing that night called Kollision, which was for jr. high/ high schoolers, encouraging them to invite people. We were told that typically on 30-40 people come, about 110 people showed up ! Bishop (mike) and I did some bboy demonstrations and then Mike shared his powerful testimony. The gospel was preached and because of this, I was pumped! Thank God for another great week of opportunities!

So you think you can dance? Anaheim California

So you think you can dance? Calvary Chapel of Anaheim put on its first dance competition outing. The venue was set up real nice. It took place at Cal State Fullerton College and the dancing was great! From Hula dancing to Breakdancing, the diversity was fantastic. About 200 seats were filled and about 50 people stood in the back to watch, it was packed. There were judges,MC's, and there was also a live video feed of the dancing up on a big projection screen. The whole set up was done real well. As far as the bboyn goes, Tim (Veritaz), Landon (L), Josh (Beebop), Mike (Bishop) were particiapting for the purpose of having fun and sharing the gospel. Bishop's friends, who bboy, came and the battle was fierce! Bishop threw down his freeze's, Veritaz cleaned the floor with his smooth style, L came hard, while beebop got the crowd going. Of couse, the crowd favorite was Bishop, he had home court advantage. Most importantly, Mike was able to share the Truth of the Gospel with everyone. He spoke on the passage of scripture with blind Bartemaeus and how he wanted to be healed of his blindness. He correlated that to spiritual blindness and that those who dont know Christ personally are spiritually blind and lost. Jesus is the cure to man's disease (sin). The room was silent as the gospel was preached and seeds were planted! Good witnessing conversations came about with some of Mike's bboy friends who came to help dance. God moved mightily and the night was very memorable. Hopefully the next "So you think you can dance?" competition will be held in Phoenix in the near future.

I grew up going to church, my mom was a Christian and as time went onmy siblings became Christians too. I believed in God and believedbecoming a Christian was the right thing to do, but I first wanted tohave my 'fun', sin for a season. So I did my own thing, the whole partyscene. I stole for fun, to make money, for pleasure. I was prettypopular in school being one of the better skateboarders, I wasrespected by the guys, I was confident in attracting the girls so I hadmy share of girlfriends too. I hated my life, I often wrote "lifesucks" as I day dreamed in class. I ditched a lot and barely graduated highschool. The only reason I did graduate was because of my new life in Christ. At the age of 15 one of my friends died, totally healthykid, completely out of the blue he died from a brain aneurism. That puta whole lot of fear into me, I thought if he could die at such a young age so could I. So I decided I needed to get my life right with God, Idont want to go to Hell, I knew that my sins seperated me from God andthat my sins would be paid by death. When I heard the news of my friendpassing away I was at a beach with a friend at a bon fire, where wewere about to drink alcohol he managed to get his hands onto. We bothwere convicted about our eternal destinations and both wanted to getright with God, so we started by throwing the alcohol away. I figuredas soon as I stop all my sin God will accept me and I'll be saved, so Ibegan to try and stop sinning....I tried very very hard. I couldntstop, I was addicted, the sin that really had a hold of me was lust. Itwas the one thing keeping me from perfection, so I thought. I tried andtried, I couldnt stop, sin had its chains of bondage around me. I began listening to sermons at church, reading my bible, and attendingChristian retreats. After probably a couple of years I finally began tounderstand that, its not about me saving myself and then going toChrist, it was about me going to Christ and Him saving me. I wanted tobe healed before I visited the doctor, I had it all wrong, I needed togo to the Doctor so that I can be healed. I finally understood it wasby grace alone that I am saved, not of works lest any man should boast.Up untill that point I was living a lukewarm life, I had enough of sin,and I wanted my WHOLE life in His hands, I gave my life up to Him,recognizing that Im saved by His finish work at the cross. Now I livein devotion to Him, seeking His will in my life daily, do I struggle?Oh yes I do, that's why I need to be continually seeking Him for graceand strength. Do I have a new heart? Praise the Lord Jesus Christ, yesI do, I hate sin and I desire to do whats right only because of thework He's done in me. Open Air Breakdancing with Ray Comfort, Hungtington Beach

I, Josh, have been planning this event for months. God gave me an idea to do this over a year ago, in which I thought about getting a group together to breakdance to draw a crowd while Ray Comfort open air preaches to them. Ray Comfort, for those of you who dont know, is part of Way of the Master TV show with Kirk Cameron, which is based entirely on helping equip believeres to share the Gospel. Ray has been a tremendous influence in my life and has really helped me to be more on fire for evangelism.Also, God provided two other bboys, Mike and Sam, who have a passion for the lost and who love to breakdance. So on Saturday, Oct. 2o all of us met up at huntington Beach pier to evangelize and it was AWESOME! The breakdance crew consisted Peter (swift child), Josh (beebop), Tim (Veritaz), Landon (L), Mike and Sam. We bboyed for about 4 hours total. Thank God the idea worked, we drew about 40 + people and then Ray and his crew, preached the Word! Ray and his team speak with strong conviction because of their love for lost sinners. I was able to witness to a bboy and I got in contact with many cool Christians. Tim and I met a couple from St. Petersburg Russia who invited us to come and do our ministry down there, which would be incredible if God permits. It was awesome to see how God brought all of this about! As Paul says, "Christ was preached and because of this I rejoice."

On a less important note, we had a breakdance battle. The crews were split: Landon, Josh, and Sam VS. Mike, Peter, and Tim. We had these young hispanic kids judge the battle... oh, who won? Mike was smooth with his top rock, while Tim threw down his Master swipes, Josh busted out his mills, L gave donkey kong a run for his money, Sam's crazy freezes and L-kicks, Peter's flips and creativity were all part of the show. The judges said my crew won but it could have gone either way.

New York, Breakn with Youth for Christ

I, Josh Sazdanoff, was able to spend an entire week in Albany, New York to work with Youth for Christ in reaching out to the urban community. First of all, the way this trip came about was an act of God. I lived in Wheaton, IL for about 4 months and the house that I lived in housed many different people. A young missionary couple, Jeff and Rebecca, lived down in the apartment part of the same house near the basement where I would practice breakdancing. So, they heard the crossmovemnt music I was bboyn to, and they came out and started talking to me. They told me of a friend, Ray, who lived in New York who did urban hip hop ministry. So time went by and I came back to live in Phoenix and was wishing I had Ray's email to get in contact with him. It wasn't even a week later, Ray emailed me about a ministry opportunity to breakdance and reach out to young people. Thank God for his divine hand orchestrating this awesome opportunity:
I came into New York on Aug. 19th and Ray picked me up from the air port. I had talked to him on the phone and had a mental image of what he looked like, but when I saw him, he's a pretty cool dude. As white as I am, for me to say this is kinda funny but he is pretty fly. Anyways, I met up with Andy, who is probably the wittiest person I have met. We connected really good because we both came from similar up brining and we connected really well with sports. Battle who's name is Richard, is from Canada and he was the talented graffiti artist who is going to be a future bboy to look out for. Then Mike was the supa cool DJ who keep things rollin. While Dino was our young worker who did well learning how to bboy. That was the crew.
Everyday, I would get up around 6:30 and go to the Boys and Girls Club where I would meet with the crew and we would have devotionals and breakfast. Tons of doughnuts, bagels, and OJ. Carbs galore. Then from 9-12 would be the teaching time. I was able to teach breakn for about 2-3 hours in the mourning and then we would have lunch. My class was fun. They learned how to top rock, 6 step, silly step, and freeze. They really enjoyed it, and then at the end of class, I would teach on a different Biblical story every day. Then from 4-7ish we would hit up the local park and invite the community to come join us. We had basketball games, surprisingly which,myself and Ry, took on all the young black street balllers. We beat them pretty good. Their was a white family that came and I was able to connect with them and share the good news of Jesus Christ. I thought of Paul when he said in Thessalonians " We did not only share the gospel with you, but also our very lives." The sense of showing Christ enables me to tell them about Christ. I meet many differern't people and kids and I praise God for a week of hard work and awesome opportunities.

Andy's Story

My Name is Andy Maurer and was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I am 20 years old and am going to school for exercise and wellness to get my degree for personal training and from there seeing which doors God will open up for how he wants to use me in that field. I started break dancing about 2 ½ years ago and my friend Josh helped me develop the breaker name “Mr. Freeze,” mainly because of a signature move I do, called the planche.

My life growing up was for the most part pretty “normal” and easy going. I grew up in a Christian family with dedicated parents to helping me to understand and experience the love of God through the way they raised me and cared for me. The seeds that my parents planted were watered and God made them grow into a relationship with him when I was around 5 years old. I have 3 older brothers and no sisters which also carried along with it some crazy times at home with a house full of boys. I believe one of the most relieving things you can say to someone when they talk to you about problems is, “I understand…” I struggled in my life growing up with a condition called Hyperhydrosis. Basically my hands would sweat all the time and to the point where I was socially deprived from relationships and couldn’t even do my homework without getting my papers wet. This was something that was really hard for me because I always wanted people to be able to say to me, “I understand.” But nobody I knew could. It was those times in my life I had to rely on God for my identity and trust Him that he had a purpose and a plan for allowing Hyperhydrosis to be a part of my life. Thankfully God was able to keep me pure with relationships with girls for the younger part of my life because of the condition. The Lord opened up a door for me to have a surgery when I was about 17 where they could stop the sweating on my hand. I had it done and by God’s goodness it stopped.

Later down on in the road of my life I went to bible school in Germany at a school called Bodenseehof for 6 months. I then traveled for a month through Italy, Sweden, France, Switzerland, London, and Scotland. After my traveling I attended another bible school in England that was 2 months long. I was able to come home for Christmas during my time in Europe and was amazed to hear people’s responses when they found out that it was at bible school that I experienced my biggest doubts in my faith. There was a span of about 2 months during last year where I couldn’t feel God, see God, or hear God. I became angry and rebellious towards His love for me and because I felt He didn’t care about me I was going to stop caring about Him. During this time for the first time in my Christian life I began to despise God and if somebody would have asked me, “are you a Christian” I would have said, “don’t worry about it God means nothing to me.” It was in my darkest times that Gods goodness and grace shined through the brightest. (example: Christ on the cross) As I was reading one night in psalm 51 about God washing us from our sin I decided I would believe it no matter how I felt. It was then that God was trying to plainly tell me, “if you faith is based on what you see, hear of feel it will be shaken. He reminded me that He is who He says He is and I am to Him what He says I am no matter how I feel. I am still learning to this day of how to read through God’s word and believe it is truth and in believing see how God works in my life.

I have been through much of my life seeking pleasures and passions of this world and some of the biggest things that have changed my life are seeing how precious Jesus Christ is. He is, “my everything!” I know and am still trying to learn and believe that nothing on this world compares to knowing Christ. I love psalm 63:3 when it says “your love is better than life therefore my lips will praise you.” Nothing we can find here on earth can compare to God’s love and we need to be living our lives in a testimony of that love to others. I also experienced the meaning of “needing God” because you only want God as much as you need him. It is about need for a “person,” not a “thing.” I want my life to be centered on and around the person of Christ. It is all about Christ!

I share my weaknesses in this testimony to show that I am weak and in need of Jesus Christ who became everything for me which I could not be for Him. Christ doesn’t want perfect people He desires a heart that is completely His and a heart that is daily in need of his grace and transforming Holy Spirit. I hope my testimony was somewhat an encouragement to those who are run down to the end in life and don’t know where to turn. Remember to always seek Christ because: “though my heart and my flesh may fail the Lord is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26

Reachn out Locally

Locally, breakfree ministry has been reaching out to the younger crowds around the Phoenix area. Breakfree has been able to minister to Scottsdale Bible Church, Highlands Bible Church, Mcdowell Mountain Community Church, and a church in Mesa. Preachn da word one move at a time. The message consists of sharing the gospel and to reach out to your friends using the gifts God has given them. In 1 Corinthians 9, Paul talks about "to the Jews he became a Jew... to the weak he became weak... I have become all things to all men so that I might win some." That is what we do at breakfree ministry. We try to reach out to people and the hip hop culture with breakdancing. So if you enjoy surfing or painting, that you would use those gifts you have to reach out to the surfers and painters. If you were trying to reach out to skaters and you came to the skate park in a suit and tie, the skaters there will probably look at you funny. But if you came there dressed as a skater and could skateboard, this is the connecting point which enables you to share the gospel with them. To the bboys I became a bboy so that I might win them to Christ!

BBOY'N Chicago style

Through the months of January-Early May, Beebop lived in a small town called Wheaton outside of Chicago. I was doing my internship (out of state) for my degree in exercsie and wellness for ASU. I worked at Lifetime Fitness of Burr Ridge and had, by Gods grace, a slew of witnessing opportunities. I was able to witness to most of most clients and co workers. It was an awesome experience!

A great opportunity was during one weekend in April, Tim (veritaz) and his brother Dan came out to visit me. So we planned a day when we would go into down town Chicago and of course, evanglize and breakdance. The day was beautiful and sunny, where a group of us did surveys with people at Millenium park with the sole purpose of sharing the gospel. There were many great witnessing conversations and seeds were planted in the hearts of the lost. After that, Tim and I noticed a couple people bboyn by the famous "bean" art structure located at the top of Millenium Park but they didn't have a boom box. So I came prepared with boombox in hand and slammed it down, put in some Fatboy slim and went at it! A crowd of about 100+ circled us as we threw it down on the floor. From mills to swipes, we bboyed for about 2 hours!Even Dan threw a back flip and joined in. We met some cool people and were also able to briefly share with some of the breakdancers. A Testimony of God's Grace

My name is Timothy Munther and I am 21 years old. My bboy name is Veritaz (derived from the latin word “veritas,” which means truth). I like to break dance, rock climb, do flips off stuff, snow board, surf, etc. But more importantly, I am a Christian, a believer in Jesus Christ, and thus one who has a personal relationship with God; and I have to share about the reality of truth that I have come to know and experience via the Bible. I have to share it because if I did not that would be a direct contradiction of my faith and devotion to love God and to love others in a real and meaningful way.

Death is a scary aspect of life, yet we all have to face it some day. What is even more frightening is what may happen after death. When I was confronted with the truth of my eternal destiny in light of what the Bible said, I was frightened. I recognized that I had sinned before a good and just God and that the wages of my sin were death as it says in Romans 6:23. To be totally honest I raised Cain through out my elementary school years. Although I did not get into the party scene when I was a teenager (mainly because I became a Christian when I just turned 14), I was a rebellious, thieving, lying vandal who would make most kids look like angels around my young age.

When I was about 13 years old, I knew that (just like everybody else in this world, I had) fallen short of God’s perfect standard. I came face to face with God’s moral law, His Ten Commandments found in Exodus 20:3-17. I knew that I had violated all of them in one way or another. I did not always acknowledge God as God and the reverence and devotion that was due to Him. I fashioned (in my mind) a false image of God and committed idolatry. I took His holy and precious name in vain. I dishonored my parents time and time again. Even though I have never murdered anyone, I recognized that the hatred in my heart towards some people has the same origins of the hatred that accompanies murder. Again, even though I have never committed adultery, I knew that I was guilty of transgressing this commandment when I read that Christ said that he whoever looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery already with her in his heart. I stole things, I lied, and I coveted things that did not belong to me.

In other words, I was a sinner. When I died I knew that I had to face God on judgment day, and I already knew the verdict of whether or not I was guilty or innocent. I knew I had true moral guilt and there was no way to rationalize it; I felt it deep within me. I knew of the penalty that if I were to die in my current state I would suffer the eternal consequences of my sin and go to hell, eternally separated from God and eternally separated from all that is good and lovely. I knew that God was angry with me as He is with all humans because we have rebelled against His moral code. As a result, we will be punished for our rebellion, selfishness, sin, trespasses, iniquity, etc. on an individual basis. (What I mean by individual is that everyone is accountable for their own life before God.) Romans 2:5 says, “But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.” This is where the law of God left me – in a position where God is furious with me and I will pay the penalty of suffering in hell for eternity. Romans 3:19-20 “Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Also, Romans 7:7 - “What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, ‘You shall not covet.’.”

When I was confronted with this truth, I feared God, knowing that I was at His mercy if there would be any remedy for my condition. But, I eternally thank God because He is rich in mercy and grace. God’s amazing love was manifested through Jesus. God came to earth as the man Jesus Christ, fulfilled the law by living a perfect life, gave his life as a sacrifice for my sins by being crucified, and then conquered death by resurrecting three days later. As a sinner, I was obligated to pay my fine in full by suffering in hell for eternity, but Christ paid that fine for me and suffered the penalty that I rightfully deserved. The Bible says that to be forgiven and have the hope of eternal life with God, one must repent (turn away from sin and towards God) and place their sincere faith and trust in Jesus – that His sacrifice paid their penalty. I repented from my sin and put my faith and trust in Jesus, and I no longer have to fear death because I have the hope of eternal life. I no longer am guilty before God, but stand forgiven based on the work that He has done through Jesus’ death.

I do not know where you stand before God. Only you know where you stand. Please carefully consider the thoughts I have shared with you. I do not tell others about this truth from any conceited position, but with humility and a genuine concern. How do you see yourself in light of the Ten Commandments and whether or not you will be guilty or innocent on Judgment Day? I knew that I had fallen way short of that perfect law. One aspect regarding God’s law is that it does not help you, its leaves you helpless. The law does not justify you; it leaves you guilty before Almighty God. Therefore, the worst possible thing you could do would be to try to keep God’s law in order to appease Him. God does not want people to appease Him. He wants them to humbly bow before Him and come to the understanding that there is nothing that they can do to attain favor with Him except put their faith in the forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Because God is a good and just God, He cannot simply overlook our sins – someone needs to pay the penalty, and that is what Christ did. God knows our condition and because He loves us and does not want us to go to hell, but rather wants us to enjoy a relationship with Him on earth and then finally in Heaven, He has this amazing plan by which we can be saved from this impending judgment.

Josh's Story " I Boast in nothing but the Cross!"

Hello, my name is Josh Sazdanoff, I currently am 22 years old and I also go by "beebop". Your probably wondering how I got the nickname beebop as a breakdancer. Well Landon, who is also known as 'L', used to have the name Rock Steady and if you used to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fan, you would remember that the two bad guys who helped shredder were called beebop and rocksteady. Anywho, my testatmony goes like this:

I was born in Phoenix Arizona on November 24th, 1984 (when breakn' really started to get huge!). Both of my parents were and still are, God fearing Christians. I grew up having scripture read to me andwent to church with my two older brothers (Alex and Jeremiah) and younger sister(Tarah). As I got older I started to understand more and more who Jesus Christ was and that he died on a cross for the forgiveness of my sins. I still was not a Christian though. Just because I was born into a Christian home didn't mean that I was a Christian. I was still rebellious, selfish, and dead in my sins. When I was 9 years old I had a child like faith of Jesus, and so I asked Christ to come into my heart. Well, time went on and I wasn't really producing fruit in my life. So as I went to a church camp in Pennsylvania at the age of 13 I had deeper understanding of sin and the cross. I was convicted and rededicated my life to Christ; repenting of sin and trusting in the savior! I realized that I broke Gods law (the ten commandments). I realized that I had lied, stolen, looked on women with lust, had anger in my heart towards others (which is the same as murder in God's eye's). I also understood that if I died, I would have to face God as judge and He would have to administer justice to me. I would have been guilty and ended up in hell. Those are just a few of the sins that condemned me to hell but Jesus Christ saved me! Jesus paid it all on the cross, he took upon my punishment! I understood that I couldn't earn my way into heaven by being a good person but I only needed to turn my back on sin and trust in Christ. "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.'' -Romans 6:23 So sin has a real penalty and I had broke the law and Jesus paid my fine. A fine that I could never pay. I had to recieve ask Christ to come into my heart and change me. And I turned into a new person. God gave me a new heart and new desires. I started to look how I could reach out to the lost sinners and share the good news of Jesus with them. I was then baptized at the age of 15, proclaiming to the world that I have died to my old self and have risen as a new person through the power of Christ's resurrection. Christ not only died but he rose from the dead! I serve a living God and if you have question's about life, purpose, or you feel lost, or whatever, send me a comment and I would love to help. Some of my hobbies are hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, cliff jumping, tree downing(just ask if you want to know), basketball, and you name it, I probably enjoy it. I have been breakdancing seriously for about 3 years . I bought a how to breakdance video by Mike "breaker" Garcia in high-school and started teaching myself. It took me a longtime to learn the windmill. But Tim "veritaz" learned it first, so he inspired me to practice hard and persevere. Those of you who are wanting to learn or have just started out, practice, practice, practice. Dont give up. It takes a long time to learn moves but it is awesome when you get it!

I thoroughly enjoy, going to outdoor malls and doing surveys with people, which allows me to evangelize and share the gospel. You may see me at desert ridge doing surveys with people on early Saturday afternoons. I just really have a fire to want to share with the lost on a regular basis ( if you ever want to do this, just let me know). I currently go to Whitton Ave Bible Church. www.wabconline.org and really enjoy teaching High school Bible class, lead Feed the need, and teach in the highschool/college group on Saturday nights. God is so good and it is only by his grace that I am able to do all these things! Acts 1:8- "And you will recieve power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth." Go out there and fufill the great comission, let compassion for the lost, swallow your fears!

How to "Break" the Ice in Evangelism

Matthew 4:19 says "Go and make fishers of men". Essentially as Christians we are fishing for people to try and catch them and win them to Christ. I believe our culture really admires breakdancing and the skill it takes to be able to perform the various moves. It is eyecathcing and people are drawn to it. It is a creative way to break the ice with people, build quick relationships, and plant the seeds of Gods word in the hearts of lost sinners. So we here at breakfree ministry encourage you to be creative in sharing your faith. Use your gifts whatever they may be to open up a door to share the gospel. Paul said that he became everything to everyone that he might win some. There is nothing more important than the soul salvation of people. Who do you know that is not saved? Your parents or siblings? Co worker or fellow class mate? A neighbor? What are some ways that you are reaching out to them?

Break Free Ministry

Break Free ministry is a group of breakdancers (bboys) from across America that break for the glory of God and love to have a great time. Honoring Jesus Christ is what breakfree is all about! Jesus said in Luke 10:2 "The harvest is plentiful and the workers are few...". That means that there are so many people that are lost and heading towards hell, and its our greatest passion to seek and to save the lost through the power of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 9:16 " Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel". Christ's great love shown to us sinners, is what compells us to love others. Our breakdancing is merely a fishing tool to draw people in and to share the gospel with non believers. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
